Result Round-up – 11th May
The 1st XI won the toss and opted to bowl first against Stockport Trinity, both Nauman and Haroon kept it tight early on and halfway through the innings Stockport Trinity were 41/3, however a good middle order partnership saw them score 111/9 from their 45 overs on a damp wicket. Nauman Akram picked up his first 5 wicket haul for the club, Nauman is sponsored by Theknee.expert. In reply we never really got going with only Jordan and Haroon making it to double figures. We were eventually bowled out for a disappointing 66 runs, with Jordan Potts, who is sponsored by Vortex Cars Limited, top scoring with 18.
The 2nd XI travelled to Alvanley looking to keep up their good start to the season. We batted first and scored 160 all out with Waqas Ashraf top scoring with 49, narrowly missing out on his 2nd 50 of the season. Waqas is sponsored by K. Darlington & Son Ltd. In reply Alvanley scored 140/8 which meant we secured a winning draw. Syed Ali, who is sponsored by Go Local Extra, took 3 wickets and Rhys Collister took two wickets, Rhys is sponsored by Fountain of Beauty ltd.
Our 3rd XI were put into bat by Ashley 2nd XI. We scored 101 all out with Asif Malik top scoring with 43, Asif is sponsored by Valli Opticians. In reply Ashley knocked off the runs with 2 wickets to spare after a great bowling performance. George Robinson continued his good form with the ball as he took 2/21, George is sponsored by Dawn Creative.
